New for 2024 for those clients who want to learn the stillwater game is the Warm Springs Indian Reservation lakes in Nevada. There are four to pick and choose from with two of them trophy fisheries, Billy Shaw and Sheep Creel. Rainbows will average 18-24 inches and run 3-6 pounds. Numbers of fish landed can be expected and a variety of flies and methods of presentation all work. I'll be teaching stillwater techniques so expect to learn new presentation systems that will work for any lake you fish in the coming years. Fishing permits are required, but only cost $18.00 per day and can be obtained at the Napa store in town. These are relatively easy lakes to catch trout in and the size of some will surprise you. I'll cover tackle requirements over the phone when you make your reservation to join me, This is a camp out experience or you can get a motel in Elko, Nevada

The other lake that I'll be hosting clients at is Wildhourse Reservoir which you will pass if coming up out of Elko and is 70 miles north of town. Wildhorse is about 25 miles south of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation lakes. This is a big reservoir but loaded with a ton of trout including rainbows, browns, tigers and smallmouth and largemouth bass. It is a numbers lake with the average trout running 17-25 inches and averaging 3-6 pounds. It's probably the best lake in Nevada for numbers and size. Expect to catch a lot of fish here and learn the stillwater system. I'll cover what tackle you will need to bring when you make your reservation to join me.
